Treatment of gum disease
Depending on the stage and severity of your gum disease, appropriate treatment will be selected by Dr. Bondar. In the instances of moderate gum disease, root planning and scaling is indicated. This procedure involves the removal of the hard buildup from the root surface while making it smooth. Usually it requires two appointments. If you have advance periodontal disease, gum surgery might be needed instead, which can be performed painlessly right here, in our office.
In order to maintain your gum health and prevent the recurrence of periodontal disease, periodontal profilaxis (type of the extensive dental cleaning) is routinely schedule at three-month intervals, starting right after gum surgery or root planning and scaling.
Your gum health will be monitored carefully and necessary adjustments to your treatment plan will be made promptly.
